Navigating the new HMS regulations in Iceland with Reduzer and Industry Experts
As of September 2025, LCAs are a mandatory requirement for building permits in Iceland. To celebrate our platform's compliance, we are hosting an exclusive seminar at Arkitektafélag Íslands on the 29th of January to share all there is to know about LCA for the construction industry. The seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the "what, why and how" of LCA and the new regulations. We have gathered a panel of industry experrts who will share their knowledge on the subject.
Speakers:
- Pall Hafstad & Arora Arnadottir from Húsnæðis- og mannvirkjastofnun (HMS) will provide an overview of current LCA requirements and plans for the future.
- Rafael Cao Romero Millan (Praxis arkitektúr) and Falk Krüger (A2F architects) will share their insights into how will be integrating LCA into their design workflows.
- Michael Lommertz from zero emission studio will discuss their experiences on LCA and how it has impacted his projects.
- Our own Eirik Resch will demonstrate how the Reduzer platform simplifies compliance, making it easier for firms to meet Icelandic standards.
The morning will conclude with a panel discussion focused on how the industry can drive more sustainable choices.
